Portsoy Resident Dr Anne McArthur Awarded British Empire Medal

That the Parliament congratulates Dr Anne McArthur of Portsoy, Aberdeenshire, on being awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in The King’s New Year Honours; understands that Dr McArthur has had a career in education and made contributions to Scottish country dancing, including leading performances at Balmoral for the late Queen Elizabeth II, and teaching internationally; further understands that Dr McArthur holds leadership roles within the local parish church and as a founder member of Portsoy Community Enterprise, particularly in managing the Salmon Bothy and the local heritage centre, and commends Dr McArthur for her service and dedication, which has enriched the community of Portsoy and beyond.
