That the Parliament celebrates the remarkable milestone achieved by Westray HM Coastguard volunteer, Geordie Drever, who has completed an outstanding 45 years of dedicated voluntary service; understands that Geordie is considered to be a distinguished, committed and selfless volunteer whose work has proven invaluable to the Westray Coastguard Rescue Team over the years; recognises that, since joining Westray CRT in 1979, Geordie has been involved in countless rescue operations, including an incident in 2020 when a creel boat ran aground off Westray with two people on board; notes that Geordie’s contribution was marked with a special presentation night that took place at the start of December 2024, during which he was awarded The King’s Coronation Medal, and believes this to be a fitting tribute to Geordie’s unwavering and compassionate dedication to keeping his community safe.
