That the Parliament congratulates Streetwise at the Castlemilk Youth Complex on receiving its Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) licence; considers that this opens incredible opportunities for young people in the community to embark on transformative DofE adventures, fostering personal growth, resilience, and new skills; believes that with this licence, Castlemilk Youth Complex is set to empower the youth of Castlemilk, helping them achieve their full potential, while earning a prestigious award that is recognised nationwide; understands that every year, DofE inspires hundreds of thousands of young people from all walks of life, to explore who they are, grow in confidence and develop the skills that they need to successfully navigate life; further understands that DofE is open to any young person aged between 14 and 24, and that participants build their own programme, choosing activities and a cause to volunteer for; notes that the DofE is structured into three levels of Award, which increase in challenge and duration, Bronze, Silver, and Gold, and understands that in 2023-24, 330,984 young people started their DofE, giving 4.7 million hours of volunteering to their communities.
