King's Theatre, Glasgow, Celebrates Head Stage Door Keeper's 50 Years of Service

That the Parliament congratulates Joan Neil for her 50 years of service as the head stage door keeper at the King's Theatre, Glasgow; notes that Joan started her journey at the Theatre on 17 October 1974 during a week-long run of Billy Connolly shows; understands that over the years, she has become a beloved figure at the Theatre, known for her welcoming presence at the stage door; acknowledges that in 2014, Joan received an Inspiring City Award for her contributions to the Theatre; understands that she is especially known for her role in the annual pantomime press night where she leads the much-anticipated, "Fish and Chip Night"; further understands that the staff of the King's Theatre see Joan as the fabric of the historic venue, and recognises her warmth, dedication and passion that has welcomed generations of performers and audiences alike; notes that Joan’s 50 years of service coincides with several other milestones for the King's Theatre; understands that in September 2024, the venue celebrated its 120th anniversary on Bath Street, and that the upcoming holiday season will see the Theatre's 60th annual pantomime, and understands that to honour Joan's half-century of service, the King's Theatre will host a special celebration later this month, with staff, invited guests, and some exciting surprises in store.
