That the Parliament congratulates Ewan Duncan, from Tannochside Primary School in Uddingston, on winning the SGN Carbon Monoxide Safety Competition, held as part of Gas Safety Week 2024; considers that the competition provides a valuable platform for young artists aged five to 11 to raise awareness of the dangers posed by carbon monoxide (CO), often referred to as the "silent killer"; applauds Ewan for his impressive creativity and skill in developing an informative PowerPoint presentation, inspired by a safety workshop delivered at his school by Bonanza Creative in collaboration with SGN; believes that Ewan’s presentation, showcased to the entire school during assembly, clearly demonstrated his strong understanding of the risks associated with carbon monoxide, and notes that it was well-received by both pupils and staff; recognises that his well-deserved prize included cash awards for both him and his school, acknowledging his valuable contribution; commends all pupils involved, and praises the safety workshops dedicated to educating and inspiring younger generations to take action, while highlighting the critical importance of raising awareness about CO and preventive measures.
