As an amendment to motion S6M-14405 in the name of Graham Simpson (Ending Peak Rail Fares on ScotRail Trains), insert at end "; notes that this decision contradicts previous commitments made by the Scottish Government to simplify rail fares to encourage modal shift from private car to rail; recognises the key role of Scotland’s rail unions in securing the scrapping of peak fares, and shares their concerns about the impact of this decision on Scotland’s climate ambitions, and calls on the Scottish Government to immediately publish the route map to reduce car kilometres by 20% by 2030 to encourage modal shift and further investment in public transport."
