As an amendment to motion S6M-11237 in the name of Jamie Hepburn (Building A New Scotland: Migration to Scotland after Independence), leave out from "and welcomes" to end and insert "which is contrary to the proud history that the UK has of welcoming people who want to contribute and build their life in this country or seek sanctuary from war and persecution; endorses the changes set out in the Liberal Democrats’ paper, For a Fair Deal, that would create opportunity, help business and public services recruit the people that they need and fix the immigration system, and calls on the Scottish Government to cease the production of independence papers and reassign the civil servants working on them to reflect the people of Scotland’s priorities, such as tackling the cost of living, stopping sewage dumping and fixing the crisis in the NHS."
