The Scottish Parliamentary Pension Scheme provides benefits for Members of the Scottish Parliament and officeholders (including the Lord Advocate and the Solicitor General for Scotland). It also provides benefits for surviving partners and children.
Contributions are paid into the Scottish Parliamentary Contributory Pension Fund, which was established under the scheme. Investment is managed by an external fund manager, Baillie Gifford.
The scheme rules are listed in the Scottish Parliamentary Pensions Act 2009 (opens in new window).
A board of trustees is responsible for managing and administering the fund in accordance with the scheme rules. The current board of trustees is:
