PE1815: Translocate protected beavers to reduce licensed killing

Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to initiate a programme to translocate protected beavers to suitable habitat outside existing beaver range, to minimise the need to kill animals adversely impacting arable farmland.

28 June 2022: The Committee agreed to close the petition under Rule 15.7 of Standing Orders on the basis that the Scottish Government has changed its position on translocation and that NatureScot has stated it now expects to see a much greater proportion of licensed translocations and a much smaller proportion of beavers being removed by lethal control.
