Major events are large-scale events that may make use of the main spaces of the parliament building, such as:
These events cannot take place at the same time as parliamentary business.
Major public exhibitions take place in the Main Hall. This is the main welcome space for our visitors and the public. The area has exhibits about the work and history of the Scottish Parliament. Temporary exhibitions normally take place during recesses.
We deliver up to six major events and exhibitions each year.
The Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body (SPCB) will consider all major event and exhibition proposals. Proposals must support the aims and objectives of the Public Engagement Strategy. We’re trying to diversify our engagement and widen our audiences.
Major events and exhibitions are planned up to 24 months in advance. If you have an idea for a major event or exhibition, please contact us at eventsandexhibitions@parliament.scot in the first instance.
You may also wish to consider requesting a Member-sponsored event or exhibition.
