That the Parliament recognises that the Orkney Christmas Tractor Run, which took place on 29 December 2021, has raised over £50,000 for CLAN Orkney and Orkney MS Therapy Centre; understands that 158 agricultural vehicles from across the isles adorned with Christmas lights took part in the 14-mile procession in Kirkwall, including past the Balfour Hospital, with smaller runs taking place later in Stromness and St Margaret's Hope; commends the local farmers, Steven Sinclair and Graham Nicholson, for organising the hugely successful fundraising effort, which has demolished an original £4,000 target; praises the outstanding generosity of the Orkney public and support of the local businesses, William Shearers, Orkney Television Enterprise and Wellpark Garden Centre, which offered substantial discounts to participants; believes that the Tractor Run demonstrated the best of community spirit and raised morale for the public and farming community at a challenging time, and thanks all those who participated and donated towards this very worthy cause, which will make a significant difference for cancer and MS support in Orkney.
