Be Bright At Night

  • Submitted by: Karen Adam, Banffshire and Buchan Coast, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 19 November 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-02202

That the Parliament welcomes the launch of Be Bright At Night, a campaign that encourages people in Aberdeenshire to dress brightly when out and about during the dark of winter; highlights the reported increased number of pedestrian road safety collisions during these months of reduced visibility and festive town celebrations; joins these organisations in urging people to wear light, bright, fluorescent or reflective clothing when walking, cycling or exercising outdoors; commends the hugely valuable work done by Road Safety North East Scotland (RSNES) and Getabout in supporting safety in their local communities, and wishes them every success both now and in the future.
