Work of Glasgow City Heritage Trust Awarded £240,000 in Council Funding

That the Parliament welcomes the approval of £240,000 in Glasgow City Council funding for the Glasgow City Heritage Trust (GCHT); notes that the funding will support the work of the Trust in restoring historic buildings and repairing at-risk buildings over the 2021-22 financial year; commends the work of GCHT to date, repairing 563 historic buildings, bringing 71 vacant historic buildings back into use and repairing 26 buildings at risk since the Trust was established in 2007; recognises the community outreach work undertaken by the organisation, which has supported 177 community education projects and organised 86 lectures, events and exhibitions, the latest of which is Gallus Glasgow, a digital project that explores the development of Glasgow during the "Gilded Age" of the Victorian period through the eyes of Thomas Sulman, illustrator of the Bird’s Eye View of Glasgow, 1864; congratulates GCHT on the approval of this funding, in addition to support from Historic Environment Scotland, and thanks the Trust for its work in promoting the built heritage of the city of Glasgow.
