That the Parliament congratulates the Maritime Studies Department of Orkney College UHI on celebrating its 50th anniversary; recognises that the Nav School, as it is locally known, was founded in 1967 and has played an integral part in Orkney’s maritime landscape ever since; understands that the school provides nautical courses and activities for young people in Orkney and hopes to expand its engineering training in the coming years, and wishes the Nav School all the best for the future as it seeks to maintain Orkney’s proud maritime traditions.
