North Lanarkshire Midwives Lead Intergenerational Breastfeeding Initiative

That the Parliament commends North Lanarkshire University Health and Social Care and North Lanarkshire midwives on leading an innovative and intergenerational breastfeeding initiative with Kilsyth Victoria Cottage Hospital and Kilsyth Breastfeeding Support Group; understands that this initiative has made connections and improved support for breastfeeding mothers; further understands that the group plans to run on a regular basis, bringing together new mothers and their babies with older residents of Kilsyth Victoria Cottage Hospital, to share their experiences, advice and encouragement of breastfeeding, and appreciates the commitment to continuing what it sees as this pioneering intergenerational work, fostering stronger breastfeeding support networks, improving maternal and infant wellbeing, as well as enhancing the quality of life for Kilsyth Victoria Cottage Hospital residents.
