That the Parliament commends the work of the Edinburgh Project Linus group, based in the Pentland Community Centre, Edinburgh; understands that the project, which is made up of volunteers, provides handmade quilts for children and young people who are ill, disabled or living with trauma; further understands that the quilts are distributed through a number of organisations including Harmeny School, Barnardos, the Edinburgh Clothing Store and the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People in Edinburgh; notes that the project has been providing 500-800 quilts a year for babies to young adults for over 20 years; understands that project volunteers have made a number of custom-made quilts for children receiving palliative care in a special scheme working jointly with a palliative care team, and the families, and thanks all of the volunteers for their commitment to producing the quilts and giving much-needed comfort to vulnerable babies through to young adults.
