  • Motion reference: S6M-17088

That the Parliament congratulates Orkney RFC’s Under-16 and Under-18 teams on their victories at the 2024-25 Caledonia Youth Bowl; commends Orkney RFC’s U16 team on its 36-27 win against Kinross RFC, in which tries were scored by Owen Spence, Balfour Norquoy and Finley Flett, and all converted by Thorfinn Thompson; applauds Orkney RFC’s U18 team on its 34-24 victory against Strathmore RFC, thanks to tries from Zander Bailie, Cameron Boyd, Tom Hamilton, Jason Buchan, Murray Robertson and Thorfinn Scott, with conversions from Zander Bailie and George Wylie; recognises that these latest successes have been built on an outstanding commitment from players, coaches and parents, who have travelled more than any other club in the competition; believes that the continued success of Orkney’s youth teams and individual male and female players, who are being capped at regional and national level, demonstrates the remarkable strength in depth there now is in Orkney rugby; thanks Orkney RFC’s U16 and U18 teams for being wonderful ambassadors for Orkney, and wishes them continued success in the future.
