  • Submitted by: Ruth Maguire, Cunninghame South, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 07 April 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-17085

That the Parliament commends Lucie Henderson, a 12-year-old pupil at Irvine Royal Academy, for her selfless fundraising to provide Easter eggs to children in the paediatric ward at Crosshouse Hospital; recognises Lucie’s dedication in using her own pocket money to kickstart the project by creating a raffle prize basket, which, with the help of her five-year-old brother, Lewie, raised enough money to begin purchasing Easter eggs for donation; acknowledges her wider fundraising efforts, as well as her success in securing additional donations from Tesco Irvine and members of the local community; further recognises Lucie’s past charitable work, including fundraising for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and supporting local foodbanks with her sister, Summer; welcomes the support of Irvine Royal Academy Headteacher, Mrs Sloan, who has facilitated community donations via the school, and encourages individuals, businesses, and organisations to support young people like Lucie, whose generosity and kindness make a meaningful difference in their communities.
