That the Parliament celebrates the success of the 2025 NHS Orkney Team Orkney Awards, which were marked with a ceremony held on the 28 March 2025 at the Royal British Legion in Kirkwall; understands that the awards are now in their second year, and were established to recognise the exceptional efforts of individuals and teams in the NHS Orkney community, who demonstrate incredible dedication and commitment across a broad spectrum of roles; acknowledges that those nominated have been identified for going above and beyond in caring for the local community, and providing excellent, person-centred care for patients across Orkney; notes that Sarah Lyon received the Continuous Improvement Award for her excellent work as a reporting radiographer and general lead; celebrates the news that health intelligence senior analyst Ian Coghill was recognised with the Open and Honest Award; congratulates Lizzie Saunders, radiology administrator, for the recognition of her achievements with the Respect Award, alongside Ward Clerk, Kim Hamilton, who was presented with the Kindness Award; notes that Dr Fiona Learmonth, a clinical teaching fellow, was recognised as the Star of the Future, and that the ultrasound team was presented with the Providing Excellent Care Award; congratulates the central decontamination unit and the dialysis team on their success in being recognised as the Non-Clinical and Clinical Teams of the Year respectively; commends Louise Smith and Lorna Drever on the award of the Excellence in Community Award for their work as relief community nurses; congratulates trainee school nurse, Hannah Leslie, and children’s health service manager, Louise Willis, who were awarded Learner of the Year and Leader of the Year respectively; acknowledges that Dr Kevin Fox received the Special Recognition Award for his work as a consultant physician and cardiologist; congratulates specialist neurological physiotherapist, Donald McLean, on being presented with the People’s Choice Award, as voted for by the local community in Orkney; acknowledges that all those nominated for the awards work tirelessly to serve their local community, and pays tribute to everyone at NHS Orkney for their commendable efforts and dedication in providing exceptional levels of care.
