  • Submitted by: Karen Adam, Banffshire and Buchan Coast, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 28 March 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-16954

That the Parliament commends the Buckie RNLI lifeboat coxswain, Davie Grant, and his fellow crew members, Mike Rennie, Graeme Gault, Gavin Hyne and Stuart Mack, on being awarded The King’s Medal in recognition of their decades of dedicated and selfless service to saving lives at sea; acknowledges Davie’s remarkable 30 years with the RNLI and his leadership as coxswain since 2021, including his swift response to a Mayday call just 72 hours after assuming the role; welcomes new crew member, Bruce Scott, as he embarks on his lifesaving journey, having already responded to his first call-out within days of joining; recognises the invaluable contribution of RNLI volunteers, without whom vital life-saving operations would not be possible, and expresses gratitude to all at Buckie RNLI for their unwavering commitment to maritime safety.
