  • Motion reference: S6M-16949

That the Parliament congratulates the Oban and District Darts League (ODDL) for successfully organising and hosting its third Oban Open darts competition; notes that the Claredon Hotel hosted the men’s tournament and that The View bar hosted the ladies open; understands that the professional player, Willie Borland, won the men’s event, while Liz Humphries won the ladies event; recognises that, as a result of the successful growth of the Oban Open over the last three years since its inauguration, the tournament will evolve into the Oban Darts Festival in 2026, with the inclusion of youth and girls tournaments and a doubles event; acknowledges that darts is reportedly the UK’s fastest growing sport, with 35% more people interested in it than there were two years ago, and wishes all involved at the ODDL well for its future events.
