That the Parliament congratulates Aldi on introducing access to free period products within all in-store toilets for customers and employees; believes that this is an important contribution to efforts to normalise menstruation, promote period dignity and reduce period poverty; understands that the initiative is available to anyone who needs it, with no need for a code or proof of purchase, and that Aldi seeks to make a meaningful difference to anyone who needs access to period products; notes that this initiative is part of a wider collaboration between Aldi and Bloody Good Period, a leading charity focused on menstrual equity, and that the scheme will donate over one million period products to support the charity’s vital work in addressing period poverty and ensuring that menstrual products are viewed as a basic human right, not a luxury; acknowledges what it sees as the positive impact of the Period Products (Free Provision) (Scotland) Act 2021 in improving access to free period products; commends Aldi for demonstrating leadership and commitment to period dignity, and encourages other supermarkets and businesses to play their part.
