That the Parliament welcomes the news that an event to clean up Stirling is being combined with learning more about the city’s history at some upcoming volunteering events; believes that Go Forth Stirling BID is inviting people and businesses to take part in the Friends of the BID Spring Clean, which is a series of volunteer-led initiatives designed to raise pride in the city and promote a cleaner, healthier environment; understands that, as part of the organisation’s ongoing efforts to foster a sense of community between business owners and residents, it is organising a series of litter picks and city centre clean-ups throughout the spring of 2025; acknowledges that, on 26 March, there will be graffiti and sticker removal around the city centre, with people meeting in Friars Street, on 2 April a litter pick around the Old Town is planned, with people meeting at the Tolbooth, on 5 April there will a litter pick around Burghmuir Retail Park, with participants meeting at the Pure Gym, on 9 April, a litter pick will take place around Cowane Street and the Tesco area, with people meeting at the city’s Travelodge, and on 12 April a final litter pick is scheduled at Back Walk, with participants meeting at the Codebase building; further acknowledges the sentiments from a BID spokesperson that these clean-up sessions are an excellent opportunity for local businesses to unite with residents in taking pride in the place that they all call home, with volunteers’ time and effort greatly contributing to a cleaner, greener Stirling, creating a welcoming environment for visitors and the community, and commends GO Forth Stirling and everyone involved in what it considers to be their highly magnanimous endeavours.
