That the Parliament congratulates the Lewis & Harris Youth Pipe Band and Sgoil Bhàgh a’ Chaisteil on winning a duo of awards at the 2025 Scottish Schools Pipe Band Championships, which were held in Kilmarnock in March 2025; understands that the Lewis & Harris Youth Pipe Band picked up the Eilidh MacLeod Endeavour Award,  which is sponsored by Eilidh’s Trust and celebrates a band that goes beyond just competitive success and demonstrates perseverance, resilience, community contribution, enthusiasm, camaraderie, innovation and efforts to include everyone regardless of circumstances; recognises that Sgoil Bhàgh a’ Chaisteil competed against four other schools to become the outright winner of the Freestyle award; believes that there were a record number of pipe bands at the championships, with 94 participants in competition, of which 16 were island-based; welcomes the continued efforts of the Scottish Schools Pipes and Drums Trust, which runs the championships, which has helped make pipe band participation accessible to young people across Scotland through the provision of grants, internships, free instrument loans and tuition, and believes in the importance of ensuring young people can continue to access and get involved in piping.
