Fletcher of Saltoun Awards 2025

That the Parliament acknowledges the Saltire Society presenting its annual Fletcher of Saltoun Awards on 6 March 2025; understands that the awards, which were presented at a ceremony in Edinburgh’s New Town, recognise innovators and entrepreneurs in Scottish culture; congratulates the winners, including the award-winning film and television composer, Patrick Doyle, who won the Award for Arts and Humanities, Professor Lorna Dawson CBE, FRSE who won the Award for Science, scientist and human rights activist, Sir Geoff Palmer, and the broadcaster, filmmaker and writer, Paul Murton, who won an Award for Public Life; understands that the Saltire Society was founded in 1936 and aims to promote the understanding of culture and heritage in Scotland; welcomes recognition of those who make great contributions to culture and public life, and wishes the award winners and the Saltire Society well.
