Biggar High School Participates in the 2025 SP Energy Networks Warriors School Championship

That the Parliament welcomes the news that pupils from Biggar High School are currently participating in the 2025 SP Energy Networks (SPEN) Warriors School Championship; understands that the SPEN Warriors Championship supports rugby at a grassroots level and creates a platform for aspiring rugby stars, while highlighting science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) opportunities to encourage students to think about a career beyond the game; notes that this is the eighth year of SPEN supporting the championships, which run from 1 April to 6 May 2025 and include over 6,000 young people from 28 schools; understands that SPEN will also be undertaking outreach events to showcase the value of STEM skills in a range of careers, including in sport through its partnership with the Glasgow Warriors that showcases the science behind rugby and the importance of health and wellbeing; commends SPEN on what it sees as its innovative approach to inspire development of STEM skills in young people; celebrates Biggar High School’s participation in the championship, and wishes it all the best through this year’s championship.
