That the Parliament commemorates the life of the distinguished artist Jack Vettriano, who passed away on 1 March 2025 at the age of 73; highlights Jack's close connection with Kirkcaldy and notes that, during his time as an apprentice mining engineer aspiring to be an artist, he often visited Kirkcaldy Galleries as part of his efforts as a self-taught artist; further notes that, alongside international and commercial success, Jack returned to the Lang Toun in 2022 for a show in Kirkcaldy Galleries of his early works, which were painted under the name, Jack Hoggan; notes that he funded the Jack Vettriano Scholarship at Fife College for 18 years, which assisted 70 art and design students with their studies, and understands that a book of condolences will be in situ at Kirkcaldy Galleries for those who wish to express their condolences at his passing.
