  • Submitted by: Jackson Carlaw, Eastwood, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 05 March 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-16699

That the Parliament congratulates Eastwood High School on receiving the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) School Ambassador Award at the highest level of gold; recognises that the achievement of Eastwood in receiving the gold award highlights the work of the entire school community to promote and champion the importance of lifelong learning for pupils; acknowledges that a secondary school can be awarded the SCQF Ambassador status at either gold, silver or bronze level and that almost 100 schools in Scotland have received the commendation; understands that, if a school achieves the Ambassador status, it is a reward for demonstrating a strong focus on the recognition of wider achievements, improving senior phase pathways and attaching equal value to both academic and vocational qualifications, and commends Eastwood High on receiving the gold award.
