Girlguiding Scotland Celebrates Own Your Path Pilot

That the Parliament commends the efforts of Girlguiding Scotland to support its members to identify and celebrate their strengths through its Own Your Path pilot events, as part of its efforts to support volunteers and leaders of the future; understands that the events seek to help Guides aged 13 and over, Rangers and Young Leaders consider their future paths and understand how skills gained through guiding can help them in their future careers; recognises that the organisation is powered by 9,000 volunteers, with some of them speaking at on Own Your Path event to show how the skills that they have developed through Girlguiding have supported them in their careers and enhanced their employability; notes that the first event took place in Aberdeen in February 2025 and the second event will take place in Glasgow in March, which will be supported by the CashBack for Communities programme, where attendees will consider their own path for the future and learn about how a variety of people have used skills gained through Girlguiding in their professional journeys, while also participating in fun activities and crafts; understands that Girlguiding Scotland empowers its 40,000 young members to develop their skills and help them know they can do anything; welcomes Girlguiding Scotland’s approach to investing in the skills of its young members, and wishes Girlguiding Scotland, and its members, all the best in the future.
