That the Parliament recognises International Day for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Awareness Day on 5 March 2025; believes that this is an important opportunity to raise awareness about the ongoing challenges and risks posed by weapons of mass destruction, particularly nuclear weapons; considers that this day plays a key role in deepening the global understanding of how disarmament efforts contribute to promoting peace and security by preventing and resolving armed conflicts, and reducing the human suffering caused by weapons, and echoes the call of the UN General Assembly on all of its member states, which are the organisations of the UN system, along with civil society, academia, the media and individuals, to commemorate International Day for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Awareness Day, including through all means of educational and public awareness-raising activities.
