Currie Community High School Debaters Win the Novice Final of the Schools’ Mace Debate Competition 2025

That the Parliament congratulates the debating team from Currie Community High School on winning the Novice Final of the Schools’ Mace Debating Competition 2025, which was held at the Faculty of Advocates in Edinburgh; understands that this competition is run by Young Speakers Scotland, a leading Scottish educational charity that also runs a variety of workshops and events to equip young people to realise their potential through debating and public speaking; further understands that this was the first time that a Novice Final was held, with the two best junior teams in the competition, Currie Community High School and Aberdeen Grammar School, facing each other, with Currie being declared the winner; acknowledges the confidence gained by the young people attending the debating workshops, and wishes Currie Community High School continued debating success.
