That the Parliament congratulates the debating team from Broxburn Academy on winning the Schools’ Mace Debating Competition 2025, which was held at the Faculty of Advocates in Edinburgh; understands that this competition is run by Young Speakers Scotland, a leading Scottish educational charity that also runs a variety of workshops and events to equip young people realise their potential through debating and public speaking; further understands that, from the 39 teams that took part in the preliminary rounds from across Scotland, this number was whittled down to only eight that then participated in three knockout rounds, to leave Broxburn Academy and Dollar Academy to face each other in the Grand Final, with Broxburn being declared the Mace champions after a closely fought final; acknowledges that this win is the latest in a series of accomplishments by Broxburn Academy's young debaters, and that it has now established itself as one of the most successful schools for debating in Scotland, and wishes Broxburn Academy continued success for many years to come.
