That the Parliament congratulates members of Blackhall St Columba’s Church, in Edinburgh, on raising £10,000 for Blood Cancer UK as part of its annual charitable efforts; commends the church for holding a number of fundraising activities, including a craft coffee morning and Christmas fair; recognises that blood cancer is the UK’s fifth most common cancer and the third biggest cancer killer; understands that Blood Cancer UK is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to funding research into all blood cancers, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma, as well as offering information and support to those with a blood cancer; further understands that, thanks to fundraisers, like Blackhall St Columba’s Church, Blood Cancer UK is able to invest more money into research, which will help improve survival outcomes for many, and notes that the entire amount raised by the congregation since they began supporting a different charity each year in 1992 is now £284,076.
