That the Parliament notes that 3 March 2025 marks World Wildlife Day, as designated by the United Nations to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild animals and plants; recognises that this year’s theme, "Connecting People and Planet: Exploring Digital Innovation in Wildlife Conservation", highlights the role of technology and innovation in protecting biodiversity and ecosystems; acknowledges what it sees as the importance of Scotland’s rich natural heritage and the need to safeguard its diverse wildlife for future generations; appreciates the work of conservation organisations, environmental groups, and local communities in protecting Scotland’s species and habitats; recognises the role of species reintroduction efforts in restoring ecological balance, including projects aimed at bringing back native species to their natural habitats, and encourages further action to address biodiversity loss and the threats it considers are facing wildlife in Scotland and globally.
