Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Cove Park

  • Submitted by: Jackie Baillie, Dumbarton, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 19 February 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-16505

That the Parliament congratulates Cove Park on its 25th anniversary; understands that Cove Park was established in 2000 in order to support local, national, and international artists working individually and in collaboration in all art forms, and at every career stage; notes that the initiative provides a programme of residencies, commissions, and collaborative projects that allow artists, creative practitioners, and researchers to develop and produce ambitious, innovative, and ground-breaking new work; believes that it does this by providing artists with a unique combination of time, support and space to make significant strides in their work; acknowledges that it has welcomed over 3,000 local, national and international artists through its doors, including prominent figures in the industry, such as Margaret Atwood, who have produced work that has been recognised nationally and internationally, and understands that, starting in spring 2025, Cove Park plans to hold 25 Open Fridays that will welcome visitors to special events to celebrate its special anniversary.
