That the Parliament notes that 20 February 2025 marks the UN World Day of Social Justice; recognises that this day highlights the importance of promoting fairness, equality, and inclusion in all aspects of society; considers that social justice is fundamental to tackling poverty, reducing inequalities, and ensuring that all individuals, regardless of background, have access to opportunities; notes that this year’s theme, “Empowering Communities for Inclusive Prosperity”, focuses on the need to support individuals and communities to participate fully in economic, social, and cultural life; commends the work of organisations across Scotland that are dedicated to advancing social justice, including those tackling poverty, supporting marginalised groups, and advocating for workers’ rights, and reaffirms its commitment to building a fairer and more just Scotland.
