  • Submitted by: Claire Baker, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 18 February 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-16484

That the Parliament welcomes the new bike pump track and jump loop in King George V Park, in Clackmannan, which officially opened recently; understands that as part of the legacy funding from the UCI World Cycling Championships, funding for the £139,000 facility was provided by sportscotland and the National Lottery through the Cycling Facilities Fund and the Place Based Investment Programme; further understands that the bike facility is a unique combination of a pump track and a jump loop with three jumps of increasing height and challenge, and is located in the heart of Clackmannan opposite the primary school and adjacent to the key active travel route linking Clackmannanshire with Fife and Falkirk; believes that this presents a superb facility providing challenges for all ages and abilities; is grateful to Clackmannanshire Council for the opportunity for the creation of the facility and allowing the final design to be shaped by the people of Clackmannan via a number of engagement events; recognises that this facility will increase the opportunities for people to get involved in cycling in Clackmannanshire, and hopes that everyone will enjoy using the facility and benefit from taking part in the sport.
