Brodie Young Sets New Scottish 400m Indoor Record

That the Parliament congratulates Brodie Young, who is from Chryston, on his outstanding achievement in breaking the long-standing Scottish 400m indoor record with a time of 45.96, surpassing the previous record of 45.98 set by Brian Whittle in Hungary in 1988; notes that this remarkable performance took place while representing the University of New Mexico; acknowledges Brodie’s hard work, discipline and dedication, which, it believes, serve as an inspiration to athletes across Scotland; extends special recognition to Brodie’s coach at the university, Kyra Mohns, for what it sees as her pivotal role in his development and success; commends the support from Brodie’s family, and praises the commitment and leadership of James McMenemy and the Airdrie Harriers club, and wishes Brodie continued success as he strives to set new standards for Scottish athletics.
