That the Parliament commends Springfield Cambridge Festival Chorus and Orchestra (SCFC) on raising the magnificent sum of £502,012 to date for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS); understands that the amazing milestone was reached by the Bishopbriggs-based 170-strong choir and orchestra after the latest concert in December 2024 at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall collected £36,000; praises the commitment of its musical director and members; believes that the SCFC was started in 2002 as a small voluntary group of singers and musicians and now fills the Royal Concert Hall annually at Christmas, with members’ ages ranging from 10 to 92 years old; thanks the public for attending the show and the choir for spreading joy and happiness, and wishes SCFC all the very best in its ambition to pass the £1 million mark for CHAS in the not too distant future.
