That the Parliament welcomes the opening of a new skills simulation suite at Forth Valley College’s Alloa campus; understands that the facility, which has been described as "state-of-the-art", is designed to give future care providers hands-on experience in a realistic, simulated environment; notes that the suite was developed in collaboration with NHS Forth Valley and boasts resources and equipment to enhance the training of students in the health and social care sectors; understands that, in recent weeks, staff have introduced the facility to students, allowing them to explore its features and to gain practical insight into the diverse settings that they are expected to encounter in their future careers; believes that hands-on learning, via accurate simulations of real work situations and environments enabled by the latest technology, could help develop skills that a future medical workforce needs; notes that the training suite includes a hospital ward set-up, a simulated clinical support and social care bedroom environment, as well as a reablement suite with mobility aids and equipment to enhance independence within homecare settings; understands that, by providing students with simulated environments that mirror real-life clinical, social care, and reablement settings, it is intended that the suite will help bridge the gap between theory and practice; acknowledges that Forth Valley College is already considered to be a major centre for the use of simulation learning in health and care, and congratulates everyone involved on their collective and tireless work on this excellent and innovative facility.
