That the Parliament applauds Asda's initiative in supporting local communities, including in Hamilton and the wider community, in the Uddingston and Bellshill constituency; believes that Asda cafés have made a meaningful impact in the community through initiatives such as the Winter Warmer café deals and Chatty Cafés, which help combat loneliness and isolation among older people, as well as the long-running Kids Eat for £1 café meals that improve access to healthy and affordable food options, reinforcing what it sees as the importance of local cafés as vital and popular community assets; understands that in Uddingston and Bellshill, the Hamilton café served 33,553 Winter Warmer and Kids Eat for £1 meals in the past twelve months, averaging an impressive 645 meals per week; further understands that Asda cafés are often used by community groups free of charge, as are other areas in its stores, and are regularly used to raise awareness of local services, collect food for food banks, and support fundraising for local charities, and praises Asda and its dedicated staff for providing resources during times of emergencies and hardship, offering a platform for the community to come together, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of local residents.
