That the Parliament congratulates the Hippodrome Cinema in Bo’ness on securing £313,986 in Creative Scotland multi-year funding for its Silent Film Festival; understands that HippFest is Scotland’s first and only silent film festival with live music, attracting a diverse range of cinema-goers across the period of the festival to enjoy commissions, workshops and exceptional screenings; notes that HippFest has gone from strength to strength, celebrating its most successful year ever in 2024, with almost 3,000 ticket sales across four days; recognises what it sees as the security and assurance provided by Creative Scotland’s multi-year funding programme, which allows events like HippFest to continue; notes that HippFest 2025 will take place from 19 to 23 March 2025, and wishes everyone involved all the best for this year and those beyond.
