That the Parliament acknowledges Sir Ian Wood's decision to step down as Chairman of The Wood Foundation after almost 20 years of what it sees as dedicated service and his pivotal role in establishing and shaping the charity since its founding in 2007; commends the foundation's significant achievements under Sir Ian's leadership in both Scotland and Africa; notes particularly what it considers has been the transformative work supporting tea farmers across sub-Saharan Africa and the development of innovative educational programmes in Scotland, including the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative, the Excelerate Programme and the RAiSE Programme; welcomes Sir Ian's continuing involvement as a trustee of the charity; congratulates his son, Gareth Wood. on his appointment as the new chairman; celebrates The Wood Foundation as, it believes, an exemplar of Scotland's global citizenship and its commitment to international development, and wishes both Sir Ian and the foundation continued success in their mission to create systemic change through economic and educational development.
