That the Parliament notes with great sadness the passing of Denis Law, one of Scotland’s most iconic footballers, who died on January 2025; recognises his immense contribution to Scottish football, both as an outstanding player for clubs such as Huddersfield Town, Manchester City and Manchester United, and as Scotland's joint all-time leading goal scorer with 30 goals in 55 international appearances; celebrates his historic achievements, including, in 1964, being the only Scottish player ever to win the Ballon d'Or; acknowledges his enduring legacy in inspiring generations of footballers in Scotland and beyond; expresses condolences to his family, friends and all who admired him, and celebrates his indelible mark on Scotland’s sporting history.
