  • Submitted by: Emma Roddick, Highlands and Islands, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 14 January 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-16099

That the Parliament commends all those involved in the 2025 Strathpuffer, a legendary 24-hour mountain bike endurance event, which takes place every January in Contin Forest; understands that the Strathpuffer, which began in 2005 and which is widely recognised as one of the toughest mountain bike events in the world, sees competitors attempt to complete as many laps as possible of a demanding 12.5km course; congratulates Kerry MacPhee from South Uist on winning the women's solo title in what was her debut event and Kyle Beattie from Inverness on winning the men's competition for the second time; further congratulates Plumbers Reunited and I-Cycles for coming out on top in the pair and quad categories respectively, as well as the local Dingwall Academy team for winning the category for teams of eight; hopes that the event, which attracts competitors from around the world, continues to go from strength to strength, and wishes the organisers all the best as they begin preparations for next year.
