Poppies Pre-school Nursery, Laurencekirk, Nominated for Nursery of the Year 2024

That the Parliament congratulates Poppies Pre-school Nursery in Laurencekirk on being nominated for Nursery of the Year at the Nursery World Awards 2024; recognises that Poppies was one of only four finalists from across the whole of the UK, and the only nursery in Scotland to be nominated for the awards; understands that Poppies was nominated for demonstrating excellent practices in every aspect of care, including innovative learning and development for all children, an inspirational and stimulating environment, including outdoor play, an exemplary approach to staff development, and for fostering warm, supportive relationships with parents and carers across the early years sector; notes that Poppies was established in January 2007 and follows the Friedrich Froebel approach, placing an emphasis on outdoor learning and play; acknowledges that the staff at Poppies work closely with families, carers and the local community to create close partnerships and a sense of connection, and wishes them continued success going forward.
