That the Parliament congratulates the officials of Edinburgh universities who were recognised in the 2025 New Year Honours, Professor Richard Williams, Professor Susan Welburn and Claire Biggar; understands that Richard, who is the Vice Chancellor and Principal of Heriot-Watt University, was appointed a CBE for his services to education and entrepreneurship ; notes that Susan, who is a Professor of Medical and Veterinary Molecular Epidemiology at the University of Edinburgh was appointed an OBE for services for her services to one health research and disease elimination; understands that Claire, who works as an inclusion and wellbeing consultant and military public engagement lead at the University of Edinburgh was appointed an MBE for services to education; welcomes the recognition in the honours list of people working in the education sector, and wishes them all well.
