That the Parliament congratulates the artist, Barbara Rae, on being appointed a Dame in the 2025 New Year Honours for services to art; understands that Barbara is a painter and printmaker; believes that she trained at Edinburgh College of Art and is best known for her vivid landscapes inspired by geographies of Scotland and abroad; notes that Barbara is a member of the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Academy of Arts, and previously served as a member of the Royal Fine Art Commission; notes that Barbara has previously been appointed a CBE; commends her on what it considers has been her impressive career and achievements, and believes that the contribution of arts and culture to society should be recognised.
