That the Parliament congratulates the swimmer, Stephen Clegg, who studies at the University of Edinburgh, on being appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in The King’s New Year Honours List 2025 for his services to the sport; understands that Stephen won two gold medals at the 2024 Paris Paralympics in backstroke, in which he set a world record, and butterfly in the S12 classification; notes that he has some vision loss and attended the Royal Blind School in Edinburgh; considers Stephen to be a great inspiration to all athletes, and congratulates him on his incredible success.
