That the Parliament congratulates Mrs Mavis Paterson, of Auchenmalg in Wigtownshire, Dumfries and Galloway, on receiving a British Empire Medal (BEM) in The King's New Year Honours; understands that this award was given in recognition of Mrs Paterson’s charitable work; believes that she has taken on epic bicycle rides and has raised over £100,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support; recognises that Mrs Paterson, who is affectionately known as "Granny Mave", is 86 years old; believes that she is the oldest woman to cycle from Land's End to John o' Groats, which she completed at the age of 81, and thanks Mrs Paterson for her commitment and determination in raising invaluable charitable funds and for her inspiring life ethos.
